Manor Oak Values

Custom wall art

I was contacted by a retiring member of staff at a local primary school and asked to create a piece of artwork that could be given to the school as a leaving present.

The piece was based around the school values of courage, resilience, aspiration, pride, kindness and respect. In order to embody the sense of community at the school, I asked the children what the school meant to them and included their answers in the background of the design.

The central piece is intended to resemble both a tree and a brain which links to both the ideas of growth and stability alongside valuing education and achievement. But above all I wanted the design to be fun! This was one of the words that came up the most with the children so it was only right to reflect this in the design. This overarching idea informed the chosen colour palette of bright vibrant colours. I chose to include all the colours of the rainbow to represent the diversity of backgrounds at the school and to reinforce the concept of inclusion which the school values highly.
